The Search area is available from any tab. Use the Search area to look
up sales and use tax rates. You can do a complete search of the entire
database. You can also narrow your search by any of the following:
Zip Code
City
County
State
In addition, you can browse a tree view of all jurisdictions.
Searching the Database
To conduct a search:
Either accept
the default of Search All or select
the appropriate parameter to narrow the search.
Enter the search criteria.
(You must enter a minimum of two characters.)
Click the Search
button.
The results of your search appear on the screen. You can then click
the name of the jurisdiction for which you want to view
detailed rate information.
Search Tips
The more
you narrow your criteria, the faster the search.
For any type of search,
you can enter complete or partial criteria. For example, if you conduct
a Zip Code search and enter 73,
the search results will display all Zip codes that begin with 73.
To search for
a state, select the State
option and enter the two-letter postal abbreviation for the state.
Browsing the Database
To browse the database:
Below the Search button, click Browse
Jurisdictions. A list of all the states appears. Next to each
state is a plus sign.
To see the rates for
a state, click the name of the state.
To browse the jurisdictions
in the a state, click the plus sign next to the state name. The list expands to show the counties in the
state.
To see the rates for
a county, click the name of the county.
To browse the cities
within the county, click the plus sign next to the county name. The list expands to show the cities in the county.
To see the rates
for a city, click the name of the city.
